Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. By using PredictJEE, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described here.
In short: we collect the minimum data needed to run the platform, never sell your data, and clearly disclose third-party processors below. Cookies (including those used by advertising partners such as Google) and your choices around them are addressed in Section 8 and the new Advertising and Cookies section.
1. Information We Collect
a) Information you provide
- Account information: Name, email address, and password when you create an account. If you sign up via Google OAuth, we receive your name and email from Google.
- Communications: Any messages you send to us via email.
b) Information collected automatically
- Usage data: Pages visited, questions attempted, answers selected, time spent, and exam simulation results.
- Device data: IP address, browser type, operating system, and device type.
- Location data: Approximate geographic location (country, region, city) derived from your IP address.
- Feature usage: Aggregate feature usage metrics such as number of AI chat messages sent.
- Cookies: Essential cookies for authentication and session management. See Section 8.
c) AI interaction data
- When you use AI features (hints, solutions, chatbot, scan & solve), your queries, uploaded images, and generated responses are processed by our AI providers (see Section 3). We may retain logs of these interactions to improve the service.

- Deliver AI powered hints, solutions, and chatbot responses
- Track your practice progress
- Send service updates

3. Third Party Services
We share data with the following services as needed to operate the platform:

We do not store your payment card details. All payment information is handled by Razorpay (PCI DSS compliant). We do not sell or trade your personal data.
4. Cross Border Data Transfer
Some of our service providers (Supabase, Anthropic, Google, Vercel) may process your data on servers outside India. By using PredictJEE, you consent to this transfer. Appropriate data processing agreements are in place with all listed service providers.
5. Data Retention
- Account data: Retained while your account is active. Erased within 30 days of deletion request.
- Usage data: Retained while your account is active.
- Payment records: Retained for 8 years as required by Indian tax law.
- AI interaction logs: Retained for up to 90 days, then deleted.
6. Data Security
We use HTTPS/TLS encryption, secure password hashing, and access controls to protect your data. No method of electronic storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Withdraw consent at any time
- File a complaint with our Grievance Officer or the Data Protection Board of India
- Nominate another individual to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity

8. Cookies and Local Storage
- Essential cookies: Required for authentication and session management. Cannot be disabled.
- Analytics cookies: Used to improve the platform. You can opt out via the cookie consent banner shown on first visit.
- Local storage: We store functional preferences (selected subject, practice progress) in your browser's local storage to improve your experience. This data stays on your device.
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
9. Children and Minors
PredictJEE is primarily used by JEE aspirants who may be under 18. Users under 18 must have a parent or guardian who has reviewed and agreed to our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy. We do not engage in behavioral profiling or targeted advertising directed at minors. Parents may contact [email protected] to review, correct, or delete their child's data.
10. Data Breach Notification
In the event of a data breach, we will notify affected users and the Data Protection Board of India within 72 hours, as required by law.
11. Changes to This Policy
Material changes will be communicated via email. Your continued use of PredictJEE after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
12. Advertising and Cookies
When advertising is enabled on PredictJEE, third-party vendors — including Google — may serve ads on this site. Google uses cookies (including the DoubleClick DART cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to PredictJEE and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings or learn more at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Cookie categories we use:
- Strictly necessary — auth session, CSRF protection. Cannot be disabled.
- Analytics — Google Analytics 4 to understand site usage. Anonymous and aggregated.
- Advertising — third-party ad networks (e.g. Google AdSense) once enabled. Stores no personal data linked to your account.
You can manage cookie preferences via the cookie banner shown on first visit, or by adjusting your browser settings. Disabling some cookies may impair functionality (for example, login persistence).
PredictJEE complies with the Google AdSense program policies and the Google Ads General Guidelines.
